Heel toe shifting a miata with stock pedals sucks.

Yeah pedal placement is less than ideal. I heard you can get pedal extensions though, so there's that.

It is more like side foot and toe down shifting. . . I'm tempted to get the FM accelerator pedal extension so that maneuver isn't so difficult. also shoes are important in the pedal box of the Miata.

Hows that GL-5 working in your tranny? Did it change anything better, worse, no change?

That is one of several reasons I personally am not a fan of the Miata. Glad to hear I'm not alone on that one specific issue.

It really sucks with Size 12's in an E36

Oh yeah I forgot to update here. Basically it seemed to suck...but I might not have given it enough time. I used Mobil 1 GL5 with limited slip additive. basically the same crap that can be bought everywhere.

I ended up replacing it with the motorcraft stuff everyone recomends. It ended up costing my $22/quart and that price doesnt include the $10/quart for the mobil 1 stuff. I also put motorcraft stuff in the turret as it was all gray and crappy looking I thought it might help the shifting which its hard to say if my fluid changes have done anything at all.

Yeah I am just gonna make one or all of them. I cant see spending money on pieces of metal with grippy stuff on them when I could make them super easy.

It takes a while to get the coating off the syncros after it gets on there. Give it time.

Go burn a tank or two while driving spiritedly and get the tranny nice and warm that should help it get better. There is always hope, in this case you just need to put some hard miles on the car, that is all.
